These images are for the January - March 2013 newsletter.

The resort collections presented last summer included the start of some spring trends for 2013--one was clearly the continuation of more color blocking. We've all seen enough use of this design technique, but these two designers for their eponymous label, Ostwald Helgason showed very clever ways to divide and conquer.

January - March 2013

Another clear continuation of last spring/summer that is working its way through resort to spring 2013 is the use of blue, no matter what the pantone people put out in their marketing strategies, don't be mislead. It's what the stores actually buy to sell that is the trend. Here the perfect casual pantsuit look from Gucci and a more extravagant use of a scarf print at Celine.

And from Erdem these blues so like those fabrics offered in this issue.

Prints continue, here from Stella McCartney in a citrus lemon pastel. Note the track suit/tuxedo pant stripe to coordinate.

Here's the French mill's fabric that you can use for a little black jacket or even a spectacular coat. I've three new trims for it too--each just $4.00/yard and labeled on the back page of the issue for ordering.

This fabric is $45.00/yard and is a steal if you'd price it made up in the real thing. Don't miss this rare opportunity. It may not come again. An exhibition of photographs taken by Karl Lagerfeld of celebrities in Chanel black jackets titled The Little Black Jacket has been touring Chanel boutiques and art galleries around the world. If you've seen it or google search for pictures, it would inspire you to make your own little black jacket.

In addition to the newsletter fabrics this issue, there are additional ponte colors in the sale and I've restocked the Grey Wool Impostor Lite--that fabulous washable wool look-alike--plus added a pale color too--mushroom--great for this time of year and well into spring everywhere.
