While black and white continues, these are good coordinates to put
with spring's brights too or to paint. I was inspired by the digital
prints of Celine and others to put some paint splashes on a very
simple tee shirt top from the 1960 pattern. Whether you leave it
plain or bring out your inner artist, this fabric worked out very well.

I'm anxious to do this again now that I know what I'm doing. I liked
this best when I was half way through it--definitely a less is more
lesson I should have learned, but it just got to be such fun and I
wanted to try different consistencies of the paint. I have a feeling
my grand daughter might be better at this....

The beautiful blue shantung weave fabrics also coordinate with the
Monet Knit. We also have the shantung in black. It machine washes
beautifully and makes wonderful garments for summer.

Whether you like your spring greens lively or more subtle leaning to
the khaki color palette, you have a choice. This beautiful French
silk print has just enough dark tones to make it work with your basic
neutral pants or summer whites. It's a way to also work in brights in
a very elegant way.

If you're interested in doing an accordion pleated skirt for summer--
they are in all the magazines--I have this cotton that's 30" wide, is
vertically pleated, of course, and $32.00/yard. You could also paint
some long straight lines on some of the pleats, or dip dye it. I have
limited yardage for those of you that might be interested in being
very fashion forward.
